Manual released
Suresh Kumar was speaking to presspersons after releasing Kannada translations of Karnataka Municipal’s Manual and Karnataka Corporation’s Manual, published by Puliani and Puliani Publishers. The books carry Acts, rules and notification concerned to municipal bodies and corporations.
Suresh Kumar said fire tragedy in Carlton Towers occurred because of flouting the building by-laws.
Similar were many incidents in the past. Even then the public had not learnt lesson from past experiences.
The minister said many people found pleasure in flouting laws rather than following them.
Growth of a city was dependant on how much the policy makers follow the laws.
The people’s representatives in all local bodies should be well-versed in the laws so that they could plan better, he observed.
