The militant group that calls itself Mujahid-e-Islami Buraq Thursday claimed responsibility for the attacks on NATO oil-tankers in Nowshera district, The News International reported Friday.

Jehanzeb, who said he was the spokesman for the new group, claimed that they had carried out attacks on the NATO oil tankers at Khairabad Wednesday night.
Over two dozen NATO tankers were set ablaze in Khairabad where they were parked on the GT Road.

The government stopped a key supply route to Afganistan via Torkham border a week back to protest the killing of three troopers by NATO gunship helicopters in Kurram Agency.

Now, hundreds of Afghanistan-bound vehicles have been stranded in different parts of the country.

Jehanzeb said the international force in Afghanistan was their enemy and they would carry out more attacks on NATO oil tankers and containers in Pakistan.
“We will avenge the increased US drone attacks in Waziristan by attacking US and Nato supplies in Pakistan,” he was quoted as saying.
