Photo expo on bygone royal era

The photo exhibition brings some of the important and rare pictures and paintings of the events that unfolded during the rule of Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar and the subsequent rulers of Mysore. From a painting of Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar to the few last pictures of the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar of the 1950’s and 60’s with dignitaries and British officers are displayed at the hall. The photos of the Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar chairing an English durbar, common durbar at the assembly hall of the Mysore palace, Dasara procession during the times of Krishnaraja Wadiyar and Jayachamaraja Wadiyar are sure to give a glimpse of the bygone era to the today’s population. The expo also has a rare photograph or a painting of Dasara procession held in front of the old wooden palace before 1898.

It has also some of the correspondences and communiques issued by the royal court for royal weddings, Jayachamaraja Wadiyar’s ascending to throne and upanayana programmes.

The show will be kept open for the public till Oct 20 between 10 am and 6.30 pm.
