Rangamandira: A case of royal neglect

Last Updated 10 October 2010, 17:58 IST

This  building was constructed under MLA’s Local Area Development Fund when M S  Atmananda was the minister, for the benefit of the public at the cost of Rs nine lakh.
But, this Rangamandira has turned into a haven for illegal activities. There is hardly any guard appointed by the  district administration for its protection so far.

Recently, a person was allegedly murdered by miscreants in Rangamandira premises which indicates its access to all without any security guard to check illegal activities. Besides, this Rangamandira turns cattle shed for local people during day time.

Talking to Deccan Herald, Local City Municipal Council Member Padmavathi informed that this Rangamandira is not yet included under City Municipal Council property list. This area was developed by Karnataka Housing Board and still it is under the control of this board. CMC has made several attempts to bring this property under its purview. Maintenance and other developmental works will be taken  up after the transfer of this land to CMC.
