Thippeswamy (50), a resident of Holehonnur, who was working at the quarry is the dead. Two other workers Krishnamurthy and Siddappa were injured in the accident. The quarry belongs to Nagaraj of the same village.
The police suspect that the blast occurred when Thippeswamy received a call on his cell phone, while he was at work in the quarry.
Krishnamurthy who was critically injured in the blast has been hospitalised at Manipal, while Siddappa is being treated at McGann Hospital in the City. While, the quarry owner is absconding.
