Addressing a press conference after the trust vote in the Legislative Assembly held amid pandemonium scenes, Yeddyurappa charged the JD(S) and the Congress with paying Rs 20 crore to Rs 30 crore to dissident BJP MLAs. “I know from which source the money has come and how much money was distributed. I will not keep quiet, I will expose them and place the facts before the people,” Yeddyurappa said.

He said the unruly behaviour of the Opposition inside the Assembly was a blemish on democracy. As soon as the Opposition realised that they did not have the numbers to unseat the government, they indulged in behaviour unprecedented in the annals of the State legislature, he said. Yeddyurappa said he would go in for a Cabinet expansion soon and provide an efficient and transparent administration to the people of the State.

At the press conference, he also released an 18-page statement giving a recap of what he did as the chief minister. Ironically, Yeddyurappa, who did his best to save his chair from the day he occupied the office, said, “I strongly believe that the post of chief minister is not a position to exercise authority but a great opportunity to serve the people...”  He also quoted the lines of poem by P B Shelly: “O, wind, if winter comes, can spring be far behind?... The great moment has come. The dark clouds will disappear hereafter, bringing new light for which we were eagerly waiting.”

Later, he returned to Golden Palm Resort, where the other members of his party are camping.
