Just two feet of water is required to reach the maximum level of 124.80 ft. According to sources, the water level of the dam stood at 122.5 with an inflow of 5,822 cusecs and outflow of 5,882.

Due to scanty rains in the catchment areas, the dam has not reached its brim even after September. It may be recalled that Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had offered the ‘bagina’ to River Cauvery on July 25 last year, when the water level had reached its maximum level.
