Literacy rate up in Maoist stronghold of Dantewada

The literacy rate in Dantewada district was 24.56 percent in 2001, but has gone up to 45.19 percent with an increase of 20.63 percent, a statement by the government said.It said the credit for this goes to the state government that worked out on several educational schemes and projects in the past decade.Maoist rebels dominate the tribal-stronghold of Dantewada.
