Speaking to Deccan Herald, Telgi’s counsel in Pune, Vidhyadhar Koshe said that Telgi has finally decided to expose the people who are behind the scam.

“Since almost all his cases have been decided, he has now decided to disclose the names involved in this,” he said.

He said that the confession statement, which runs to over 250 pages lists out names, which include politicians from both the Centre and State from Karnataka and Maharashtra, top police officers of both states, top government officials, noted builders of Maharashtra and some of the relatives of Telgi.

It is also learnt that most of the people to be named will be from Maharashtra.

Written confession

However he refused to divulge the information as the matter is connected with the Court. The written confession will include the incidents of the entire scam and also of individual cases.

Mentioning that since he has a last opportunity to confess as only three MCOCA cases are pending in the Court, he has requested the court in this connection.

“The Court has directed the Superintendent of Prison so that he will be produced before the CJM, Bangalore for the confession,” said Koshe. He stated that Telgi requires at least three days to make his confession.

On the decision to confess in Karnataka, he said that it was not possible for him to do so in Maharashtra, but he feels secure in Karnataka.

“He could not have confessed in Maharashtra as there had been a threat to his life,” he said.

The confession will be sent to special court Pune.
