Bailancho Ekvott, a local women's organisation, had lodged a complaint early this week with Superintendent of Police (South) Allan D'Sa about the defamatory post on a website. The girl hailing from Sanguem taluka had met the accused Bhavesh Mote in Bangalore, police said.
Mote had recently posted various pictures of the girl at a website claiming that they had an affair and the girl had later dumped him. Police stated that they cannot proceed with the complaint without first locating the girl and taking her statement.
Sub Divisional Police Officer, Mahesh Gaonkar, has been asked to find out the whereabouts of the girl. The women organisation's president Auda Viegas, said although the concerned girl is missing, the accused should be nailed down to send a strong signal to those who indulge in these acts.
