CFTRI proposes nutrition in BEd syllabus

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, the CFTRI Director Dr V Prakash said the Institute has launched a project on nutrition expected to be completed before the term of 11th Five Year Plan.

Various programmes have been formulated to mark the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the CFTRI. Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Prithviraj Chavan, Rajya Sabha member Prof M S Swaminathan, Director General, CSIR, Prof S K Brahmachari will take part in the function scheduled to be held on October 31, he said.

A showcase of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and pavilion of 60 years that would help know the history of CFTRI will be inaugurated on the occasion, besides unveiling the plaque of Diamond Jubilee celebration. Foundation stone will be laid for a utility building to be constructed for the benefit of CFTRI staff. A building of Cell Biology wing will also be dedicated on that day. Two books - Research and Development of CFTRI over the last 60 years and CFTRI reminiscences over the last 60 years - will be released to mark the occasion.
