The Department of Computer Applications of T John College conducted the inter-collegiate IT fest Enigma ‘10 at the college premises recently. The technical fest saw participation from several colleges from in and around the City.

The fest was inaugurated by Kamal Kumar, MD and CEO, Dassault Systems Delmia along with Campus Director Wing Commander (Retd) Sambasivan, T John Group of Institutions; Principal Dr George Easaw, T John College and Head of the Department and Prof H G
Rajashekhara.

Kamal Kumar, sharing his views on the IT boom, spoke to the young brigade about the advantages of 3D, diversity, demography and democracy. “We have a greater number of young and talented people in India as compared to China,” he emphasised. Over 200 students from 21 colleges including R V College, Christ University, Kristu Jayanti, BIT and St  Joseph’s  participated in the various events conducted as part of Enigma ‘10.

In the technical and non-technical areas, there were events like Coding and Debugging, Treasure Hunt, web-designing, MAD-ADS, IT Quiz, Extempore, Dumb Charades and FIFA 07.

The fest also saw the college rock-band performance followed by Garba and Bhangra dance by students of T John College. The Chairman of T John Group of Institutions, Dr Thomas P John, was the chief guest for the valedictory ceremony in the evening. He welcomed and thanked all the participants of different colleges.

Speaking of leadership skills and emerging trends in the industry, he encouraged the final year students to step out with confidence and embrace the challenges of this world. He also appreciated the efforts put in by the Head of the Department Prof H G Rajashekhara, faculty members and students for organising a very successful event.

The winners of the various mega events conducted as part of Enigma 2010 were R V College (Extempore, MAD-ADS), FIFA 07 - AMC (Treasure Hunt);  Kristu Jayanti College (Dumb Charades, Coding and Debugging); St Francis College (web designing); BIT College (IT quiz). The overall winners were R V College.
