Addressing the media persons here, the Minister said the court had not found the scrapping of the appointments by the government invalid, but had directed the government to issue show cause notices to the employees who have been sacked and seek their explanation, he added.

The State Cabinet will take a decision, and the issue will be taken to a logical end in next 15 days, Ramdas said. Merit and transparency will be maintained in the recruitments, and wrongdoers will be punished, the Minister said.

Ramdas said excess recruitment of 35 nurses, a CT scan technician and a radio therapist were made for Mysore medical college. No show cause notice will be issued to them. A notification will be issued to make fresh recruitment for the posts, he added.

He said a board of subject experts would be established soon to advise the medical education department on  policy.

The Minister said the State is yet to receive the Centre’s proposal for a uniform entrance exam across the country for medical courses. The merits and demerits of the proposal had to be studied.

“The draft has not addressed issues like seat sharing ratio with minority institutions. If all is favourable, then we can go ahead,” he added.
