Speaking to the media persons here on Tuesday he said that the project is taken up under central and state government programme with the funding share of 75:25 respectively.
“The central government has allotted Rs 27 crore for project and the remaining Rs 10.15 crore is being funded by state government,” he said and added that the centre has already released Rs 3 crore as initial funding to kick start the project.
“Berth for as many as 400 boats will be created in the area. Administrative approval has been procured for the plan. The entire construction works will be executed within the time span of three years, he said.
He said that the proposal for dredging works in the river near Udyavar, for smooth sailing of boats till Pitrodi has been sent to the government.
