A) Mix a teaspoon of milk powder with a teaspoon of honey, a teaspoon of lemon juice and half a teaspoon of almond oil. Make a paste and apply this on the darkened areas. Apply a paste of oatmeal, curd and tomato juice on your face, neck and arms. Leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse with cold water. You could also apply a paste of  turmeric powder and lime juice for better results. Dry orange peels in the sun and powder them. Mix a teaspoon of the powder with a teaspoon of curd. Apply this pack on the tanned areas, leave on for 15 minutes and rinse.

Q) I am 14 years old and 5 feet 2 inches tall. I have not grown an inch over the last few months. What should I do?

A) As you have now reached your teens, it is natural for the rate at which you grow to slow down. Do not lose heart as maintaining a healthy lifestyle always provides that extra push to increase your height. Ensure that your daily diet includes vegetables, fruits, six servings of wholegrain cereal, two servings of reduced fat milk and milk products, and a serving of lentils. If you are a non-vegetarian, you could incorporate lean meat or an egg into your diet. Never skip breakfast and drink lots of water. Devote at least 30-45 minutes of your day to brisk walking, cycling, swimming or playing a sport.
