Speaking with the media persons during his visit to the coastal districts for Bhagyalakshmi bond distribution programme, Yeddyurappa said that allotment of land to his family members including his son B S Raghavendra was perfectly legal.

“I welcome the decision of Karnataka Pradesha Congress Committee (KPCC) President G Parameshwara and JD (S) leader H D Revanna who have taken on themselves the duty of fighting for land denotification. I extend my complete co-operation for their fight by providing all the necessary information,” he said.

Committee to probe

The Chief Minister revealed that a committee headed by a retired Supreme Court Judge will soon start investigating the issues including land denotification and land allotment under Chief Minister's discretionary quota.

“I want culprits to be punished and in this regard I request Parameshwara to verify the land allotment cases of past 10 years rather than merely considering the cases belonging to my tenure,” he said.

He opined that the sole intention of the Congress and the JD(S) is to stall development work in the State. When Global Investor's Meet was held in the capital city none from the opposition party showed any interest despite knowing that the meet was a developmental initiative.

Out of 400 industries that were given the license, 150 industries are already provided with land and water facilities, informed Yeddyurappa.
