Last Updated 21 November 2010, 16:15 IST

Speaking with mediapersons on the sidelines of Congress workers rally here on Sunday, he said CBI should probe into land scam in the state.

“Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues have robbed state’s wealth. Thorough investigation should be conducted and the culprits should be punished. BJP and RSS have to take measure to see that Yeddyurappa steps down from the post of Chief Minister, in order to prove their innocence. However, if RSS and BJP continue to maintain silence over the matter,  then people in Karnataka have no other option other than blaming their involvement in the scandal,” he said.

No welfare schemes

Later addressing the rally, Ugrappa alleged that the state government has  failed to introduce welfare programmes in the state. United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government has taken steps to support the developmental activities in rural areas.

“BJP lacks commitment towards society. They do not have concern towards the people. The State government has not taken up a single housing scheme similar to that of Indira Awaz Yojana introduced by the Congress.”

“The money of the poor are being misused by the BJP government. Yeddyurappa is one of the most corrupt chief minister, the state has ever seen,” he added.

He said “Days are not far when Yeddyurappa will denotify Vidhana Soudha in the name of his children.”
