Two IT employees commit suicide

Yogesh Kumar Mishra

Yogesh Kumar Mishra (35), a native of Delhi, was found hanging at his residence while his wife had gone out to bring their child from school.

Mishra was working as a team leader at Ness Technologies Private Limited in Koramangala for the past two years.

Police said his wife Jyoti had left home at 2.45 pm to pick up their seven-year-old daughter Nikita from school. When she returned at 3.30 pm, she found her husband hanging from the ceiling fan.

According to Jyoti, Mishra was on leave for a couple of days. On Thursday afternoon, he was doing his office work on a laptop when Jyoti left home, police said.

The couple were married for eight years and had two children Nikita (7) and her two-and-half-year-old brother Pulkit.

Mishra had not left any suicide note but his family blamed the death on work pressure. A relative said Mishra was depressed due to work pressure and had no time to spend quality time with his family. But Ness Technologies denied the allegation saying the suicide cannot be linked to workload.

In another incident, Deepanjali Awasthi (24), also a software engineer, allegedly hanged herself at her paying guest accommodation at Jakkasandra around 8.30 pm on Thursday.
A native of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, Awasthi was working with Transera Communication for the past five months and had moved in to the Jakkasandra PG two moths ago.

Her body has been shifted to Victoria Hospital where postmortem will be conducted after her parents’ arrival on Saturday, police said.
