Siachen takes home 1000 Guineas crown

Siachen, in the hands of Chris Hayes, was a class apart, winning the HDIL Bangalore 1000 Guineas run over a mile, the main event of Saturday’s races here.
The first classic of the Bangalore Winter Season began with outside shot Kirtling (KPG Appu up) jumping into an early lead with Silvester De Sousa-ridden Yas Marina and Balmoral Castle, steered by David Allan, following in second and third. Favourite Siachen was nicely placed in the middle pack.
At the straight, Siachen, brilliantly ridden by Hayes, made her move and picked up the running through the middle, eventually pulling away comfortably from the rest to win by a considerable four-and-a-half lengths. String Along, ridden by A Imran Khan came in second, with late-finishing Spark Of Desire (S John up) taking third.
