HC directive to Govt on appointments in govt hospitals

The court issued the directive during the hearing of a batch of PILs on 'lack' of adequate staff and infrastructure in government hospitals.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice A S Bopanna, dissastisfied by the replies given by the Director of Medical Education and Deputy Secretary Health, also directed the government to submit a report on the facilities being provided in the governemnt hospitals.

On one of the PILs, seeking establishment of a trauma centre in Karwar in Uttar Kannada district, the court directed the government to set up such centres not only in Karwar but in all the districts in the state.

The bench then adjourned further hearing of the matter to December 8.
