Last Updated 09 December 2010, 09:26 IST

"Acting on a tip-off, we recovered the crude bombs from the garbage bin in the Bahadurganj area. A team of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has defused all the bombs," Deputy Inspector General of Police Ram Kumar told IANS on phone from Allahabad, some 200 km from here. He, however, ruled out any terror angle behind the incident.

According to police, pieces of stones and gunpowder-like material have been found in the bombs.

"As of now, we cannot ascertain the intensity of these bombs," Allahabad City Superintendent of Police S.S. Baghel told reporters.

A bomb blast that took place in Varanasi Tuesday evening had killed a toddler and injured over 30 people.
