Deputy Commissioner Naveen Raj Singh convened a meeting of taluk and zilla panchayat officials here on Tuesday and issued guidelines to authorities for the smooth conduct of the polls.

Singh said his office would issue the notification for the elections on Dec 13. The election process would end on Jan 5. The code of conduct has come into force from the day of declaration of elections from Dec 6. Hence, the officials should ensure that no political party or leaders violated the code of conduct, he said.

He also asked the administrative machinery to close all the government guest houses, inspection and travellers’ bunglow.

The village and taluk panchayat officials should submit the list of sensitive and hyper-sensitive booths in their limits at the earliest.
