BU places curbs on affiliation renewals

Applications, however, will not be accepted for fresh affiliation/additional courses and increasing intake for the following courses: MSc (biochemistry, psychology, psychological counselling, apparel technology management, biotechnology, microbiology, electronic science, electronic media, computer science, life science, molecular biology), Master of International Business, Master of Finance and Accounting, Master of Social Work, Master of Visual Art, MPEd, Integrated PG courses, PG diploma in Actuarial Studies, Insurance Marketing and Financial Planning and other new courses.

For starting PG courses other than those mentioned above, colleges should have permanent affiliation or continuous affiliation of five years and accredited with ‘B’ grade and above by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Besides, colleges cannot apply for more than two PG courses. Only colleges with at least five years of continuous affiliation and which fulfil all the conditions of affiliation with NAAC, C++ grading, can apply for permanent affiliation. Application forms can be obtained from the co-ordinator, Prasaranga Sales Unit, Palace Road, by paying Rs 200 each for renewal/additional courses, Rs 250 for enhancement of intake/starting of new college, Rs 500 for permanent/renewal of permanent affiliation and Rs 1,000 for new BEd/BPEd college through a demand draft drawn in favour of BU finance officer during working hours.

New courses

BU has invited applications from colleges for four-year BS, four-year BA in Criminology and Correctional Administration and BSW programmes. Colleges permanently affiliated in arts/science stream and accredited with NAAC by ‘A’ or ‘B’ grade can apply but should compulsorily have two assistant professor/readers with a PhD in arts/science stream with good laboratory and library facilities.

Separate application forms for specialised courses can be obtained at the Academic Section - 3, Jnanabharathi Campus by paying Rs 200 through a demand draft in favour of the BU finance officer. Autonomous colleges cannot start the said courses under the autonomous scheme.
