This weekend is no different. The Glorious will perform on December 18 and 19 at the Good Shepherd Auditorium at 3 pm and 7 pm on both days.
Titled Hope and Wonder, the programme is divided into an enthralling cantata in the first half and fun-filled sing-alongs in the second half.
There’s a plenty of foot-tapping good times, some tender manger moments and vivid visual choreography.
Among the songs that the choir will perform are: Behold a King, Christmas Angels, Have you seen that child, Rejoice Emmanuel, That Lil Baby, Glory to God to mention a few in the first half and the second half will have a good mix of Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and other popular carols.
For details, call 9243109701. The Mount Carmel College will play host to about ten choirs in a charity concert at the college auditorium on December 19 at 5.30 pm.
Among the choirs which will perform are: St Joseph’s College, St Joseph’s College
of Commerce, Cotton’s Women’s College, Jyoti Nivas College, Christ University, Mount Carmel College, St. Joseph’s Pre-University College, East Parade Church Choir and the Naga Choir.
The Mount Carmel College has specially chosen a few songs for the concert. They will perform Ave Maria which depicts the whole season of Christmas, Christmas carol Chestnuts Roasting on an open Fire which highlights the feeling of Christmas and
time spent with family and friends.
The song Holly and Ivy will portray the two symbols of Christmas and finally The Brazilian Christmas Carol which ushers in the true spirit of Christmas. Talking about the choice
of songs, Deirdre Fernandes-Dominic, choir conductor says, “We’ve always performed at competitions and rarely do we get to perform for a cause and singing from
the bottom of our heart means a lot.” The proceeds of the concert will be handed over
to the homes of the Missionaries of Charity.
