'Computers to be given to hostel students'

He was speaking after distributing utensils, trunks and others to the students in Kolar on Tuesday. About 18 per cent in the City Municipal Council budget will be allocated to provide equipment to students in SC/ST hostels, he added.

He directed the officials to select the deserved beneficiaries and ensure that the facilities reach them without fail.

City Municipal Council president Naseer Ahmad said, “Under the scheme, utensils worth Rs 2.50 lakh has been distributed. As per the directions from the MLA, we will take steps to provide computers to the students in SC/ST hostels”, he added.

Taluk panchayat member Byatappa, former director of KOMUL Annihalli Krishnappa, district social welfare officer Pradeep, taluk-level officer Ramaswamy, City Municipal Council Commissioner Sayeeda Neeloofer Zabeen and other members were also present at the programme.
