Indian equities markets back in green

Indian equities markets opened higher than their previous close on Thursday with a key index opening more than 100 points higher and ruling 183.06 points up from the last closing figure.

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened the day at 12,064.51 points, and was ruling at 12,135.81 points, 183.06 points or 1.53 percent higher than its previous close.

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader S&P CNX Nifty index followed the Sensex, rising 1.29 percent to rule at 3,671.7 points.

Broader market indices however rose with the BSE midcap index ruling 2.38 percent up and BSE smallcap index trading 1.99 percent higher than its previous close.
