Bar council plea against ex-CJI

The council on Sunday passed a resolution against K G Balakrishnan in this regard and the request would be send to the President, a council spokesman said in Kochi. The resolution has demanded a thorough inquiry into all financial dealings and assets of Balakrishnan in the wake of the allegations against his sons-in-law and brother K G Bhaskaran.

The legal advisor of the State Vigilance department will offer his comments on Monday regarding a Vigilance inquiry to be instituted against Srinijan, elder son-in-law of Balakrishnan. Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan ordered a vigilance inquiry into Srinijan’s assets on the direction of Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan.
