The deceased has been identified as Manohar (16), a resident of Chikkamunimangala village of Chinthamani taluk in Kolar district.

The deceased, Manohar was travelling from Thimmasandra to Chinthamani.

Since the bus was loaded with passengers, Manohar climbed the roof of the bus and sat there, along with several other passengers.

According to the police, when the bus arrived near Nayanahalli village, on a steep road, it veered down a little. As a result, Mahohar, who was sitting on the roof-top of the bus, lost his balance, slipped and fell down.

He died on the spot. Though he was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment, he did not respond.

A case has been registered at the rural police station in this regard and further investigations are on.

Cases of roof-top journey have become abundant in the taluk.

Though, the police have requested the public not to travel on the roof-top of private buses and other vehicles, the passengers continue to do so, which leads to such mishaps.
