<p>Basaveshwarnagar police said Rupashree was married to Kiran Kumar (30) of R P C Layout in Vijayanagar two and half years ago. The couple had a one-and-half-year-old daughter.<br /><br />Rupashree’s father Ramanna, Food Inspector at Food and Civil Supplies Department, alleged that Kiran’s mother Gauri and sister Rashmi, an engineer, harassed his daughter for more dowry.<br /><br />He had given two kg of gold jewellery besides Rs three lakh as dowry during his daughter’s wedding. Rupashree’s in-laws wanted her to bring more dowry to buy a site and constantly abused her. <br /><br />She came to her parents’ house two weeks ago. On Saturday she went inside a room after dinner, closed the door and hanged herself from a ceiling fan, police said. Kiran Kumar, his parents and sister are absconding.</p>
