Justice Shiv Narayan Dhingra also directed the SHOs of Jyoti Nagar and Roop Nagar police stations to take action against his live-in partner's family members in case they harass them.
The court passed the order on a petition by North Delhi residents Arvind Yadav and Renu Sharma seeking protection after recording the woman's statement expressing the desire to live with the married man.
"She is above 18 years of age, she has chosen a path for herself to live with a married man. It is her own life and this court cannot tell her not to choose a path of her own choice" the court said.
"May be the path in the eyes of her parents is not correct but still she cannot be harassed because she has run away from her parent's house and started living with a married man, the court said.
