Last Updated 21 January 2011, 18:12 IST

Advocate K N Balaraj told Deccan Herald that he and his fellow lawyer, Sirajin Bhasha, would file a case any moment in an appropriate court. “We are grateful to his Excellency for according permission (to prosecute Yeddyurappa). He has upheld the rule of the law,” he said.

Bhasha said the case against the chief minister would be filed on Saturday. But he added that it could be also done within two weeks. A criminal complaint will be lodged against the chief minister under Section 19(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and Section 197 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973.

Regarding whether they would pursue the matter to prosecute Home Minister R Ashoka, Balaraj said: “There is no mention of the Home Minister in the sanction. We will look into it.”
