Mandya Police recover 26 bikes

Suresh alias Suri, son of Shivalingaiah, native of Honaganahalli village of the taluk is the accused. He is said to be a habitual bike lifter and was facing several bike lifting charges.
He was released on bail nine months ago and had continued even after that.

Acting on a tip off from the public that Suresh was selling lifted bikes in villages of Maddur and Turuvekere taluk, the police arrested the accused in Nidaghatta village and recovered all the 26 bikes he had lifted from various places and sold to individuals. He used to sell the bikes to the people on the pretext of selling seized bikes purchased from various two wheeler automobile finance agencies.

The accused used to lift the bike by using duplicate keys and has high skills in removing the ignition wire joints of the two wheelers.This operation was carried under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Rajanna. Deputy Superintendent of Police L Channabasavanna, Mandya Police Circle Inspector M P Jayamaruthy, Mandya West Police Sub Inspector Shivanna, police personnel Narayana, Ninganna, Lingaraju, Lokesh, G D Kumar, Yogesh and others were part of the operation.
