'Give ZP president post to a Gudibande member'

The decision was taken at the meeting called by Block Congress president K T Ashwattha Reddy in Gudibande recently. Somenahalli ZP member M V Krishnappa, Beechaganahalli ZP member N Ashwatthappa and others were present in the meeting.

Later, addressing a press conference, the leaders said that the taluk was the strong bastion of the party. This was proven again in the recently held ZP and TP election. Congress has bagged both the ZP seats in the taluk.

As the ZP president post is reserved for a SC candidate, ZP member from Somenahalli, Krishnappa should be given the opportunity, the leaders said.

Give good representation

Gudibande has been classified as backward by Dr Nanjundappa Commission. The credit of providing good political representation to the taluk goes to Congress party. The leaders should refrain from gauging the prominence the taluk holds in the Legislative Assembly, said N Ashwathappa.

A requisition has been made in this regard to Member of Parliament from Chikkaballapur and Union Minister M Veerappa Moily, MLA N Sampangi and other party senior leaders, he added.

Party leaders H Narasimha Reddy, Varlakonda Gram Panchayat member Ramappa, Lakshman and others were present on the occasion.
