Rich tributes paid to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi

Saptaswara Balaga, which has associated itself with Hindustani music had organised a music programme on the occasion.

Prof B Somashekarappa spoke on the achievements and life of Pt Bhimsen Joshi. He described Joshi as a l egend who enriched the field of music with his rich contributions.

Later, a Hindustani music programme was performed to pay respects for the departed soul. Principal Prof H B Mallikarjun Swamy spoke on the contributions of Joshi to music.  An exhibition of photographs of Bhimsen Joshi, attracted young and old alike in large numbers.
