Briefing reporters here, KFCC President Basant Kumar Patil said, “Unlike in our neighbouring states, the relationship between literature and cinema in our State has not been at a desirable level. We see this as an opportunity to enhance that relationship by our whole-hearted participation and support.”

He further said that members from all sections of the film fraternity would participate in the procession and that they would join the main procession at the City Corporation, which starts at Freedom Park.

“No shooting, production or post production activity will happen on Friday as we want all the members to participate in the programme,” he said, adding that people shooting abroad could stay away.

In a separate development, the KFCC has written to the State Government seeking uniform ticket pricing system for Kannada movies across multiplexes on all days. “We want one rate on all the days and in all the multiplexes. We hope the government responds positively,” he said.

The chamber has formed a committee under the chiarmanship of Sa Ra Govind to negotiate with the multiplexes on screening more Kannada films.

“The details are being worked out and we will get back to the public after holding meetings,” said Govind.
