Janata Dal (Secular) Floor Leader in State Legislative Assembly H D Revanna alleged that Housing and District In-Charge Minister V Somanna was getting his personal works done by threatening officials. He doesn’t have any plans for the development of the district.

Addressing a news conference here on Wednesday, he said Somanna visited several times to the district but never addressed serious issues.

There was severe scarcity of drinking water and this has been brought to his notice several times. The KDP meeting has not been held for several months.

That meeting should have been held at least once to take stock of development of every department. Somanna was not at all visible for the common people, he added.

Revanna said the rehabilitation of moisture-hit villages and submerged areas has not been done. There is problem of wild elephants too.

The work on filling potholes has not been done. There were several issues which needed the minister’s attention. Let Somanna concentrate towards these issues, he added.
Taking exception to hike in the prices of milk, Revanna said there was hue and cry everywhere when he raised the milk price by ` two per litre.

Even notice was served on him. The BJP Government hiked the milk price twice by giving excuse of farmers. The Karnataka Milk Federation should have taken general public and elected representatives into confidence before increasing the milk prices, he opined.

The JD(S) leader held Congress Party responsible for an alliance between BJP and JD(S) in Mysore ZP.

He said they had not sought BJP’s support. In fact the alliance took place as Congress made a futile bid to have an understanding with BJP just to tarnish the image of Leader of Opposition in State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah.

The Congress had got into understanding with BJP in all ZPs.
