Magical Methods' world oral calculation competition

Class 4 to 12 students can participate

Magical Methods, a pioneer institute of Vedic Mathematics in India has announced the registration dates of first World Oral Calculation Competition to be held in Delhi from November 19 to 22.

The foundation is involved in identifying and nurturing future mathematicians and scientists at school level; spreading Vedic Mathematics, the concept and its application throughout the world; promoting promote research work on Vedic Mathematics and its application; and disseminating knowledge and information on the latest developments in Mathematics and Science.

The competition

Students from Class IV to XII can participate in this competition. The participation fee is Rs100 per participant and for international students, who wish to take part in the competition, the fee would be US $10.

The competition will have two levels of screening, which are at school level and at zone level.

The first level is at the school level where each student will be given 50 problems based on their age group and class, which are to be solved in not more than 15 minutes. The school level test from each zone will be conducted on August 25.

Students, who score 90 per cent and above at the school level, will be selected for competing at the zonal level. At the zonal level, each student will be asked to solve 100 problems, again based on their class and age group, and in not more than 25 minutes.

The top three students from each group would be entitled to compete in the finals which will be organised at New Delhi.

All those students who will qualify for this last stage of competition at the world level would stand in front of the giant screen on which questions will be shown. The student will have to call the correct answer before the question vanishes from the screen.

Each group will have three prizes and all the participants will get a participation certificates with seven more consolation prizes.

No individual entries

Students interested in taking part can log on to www.magicalmethodsfoundation.org. No individual participation is accepted and registration is accepted only through school.
