Just Theatre will present Park, a comedy in English, at the Kyra Theatre on July 21. The play is written originally in Hindi and is directed by Manav Kaul. The English translation is by Deepa Gehlot.

On the face of it Park is a comedy about three men in a park fighting for their individual space. The playful banter turns into a serious squabble and questions of ‘space, territory and ownership’ become fraught with tension as individual quests display traces of larger and more serious conflicts.

The writer and director Manav Kaul is one of the emerging voices in Indian theatre, writing in Hindi. All his plays have been performed extensively at theatre festivals across the country. Park was premiered in 2009 and has won critical acclaim since its debut.

The cast of the play includes Sachin Gurjale, Vinod Ravindran and  Ravindra Vijay. The duration is one hour and 10 minutes. The play will begin at 8 pm. For details, call 43419999/9632203333.
