The police raided Thamanna’s residence in Vijayanagar, based on a complaint filed by former MP Madegowda.

In his complaint, Madegowda alleged that Thammanna amassed properties in his own name and in the name of his wife and children amounting to Rs 19.3 when he was the chief development officer of KIADB between 1989 to 1999. It is alleged that Thammanna cheated farmers while the KIADB acquired land from farmers.

The Lokayukta police had on Friday booked a case against Thammanna after the Bangalore Rural District and Sessions Court ordered for probing the charges of corruption against him. Following this, the Bangalore Rural Superintendent of Police lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta police who booked a case under Section 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
