Having already initiated the programme in Anekal taluk, SHARP will extend it in Kadur and Belgaum, too, said the programme’s state coordinator, Soumya Ningappa.

Apart from free health check-ups in government schools, the NGO will also provide digitised cards to all children who can take it to any of the 23 empanelled hospitals and get concessional treatment.

The NGO has so far screened 22 schools, eight of which are private institutions, in Sarjapura area.  Of the 1,107 children screened, about 155 had eye problems and over half of the children were found to have poor oral hygiene.
