The boxes were handed over to representatives of temple, church and mosque (where they will be installed) by former vice chancellor of Manipal University Dr B M Hegde at a function at the Patrika Bhavan here on Friday.
Dr B M Hegde addressing the gathering lauded the innovative idea of John B Monteiro, the Editor of the website and warned people to be careful while consuming drugs or medicines.
He appealed people not to consume too many painkillers and not to go for self medication. He also urged the people not to drop expired pharma drugs into the box.
The box will be installed at Jumma Masjid, Kadri temple and Milagres church.
John Moteiro among others were present.
