Killer security guard lands in police net

On Tuesday, the suspect Srinivasaiah alias Seenappa, a security guard, was arrested. He confessed that he had killed his neighbour Kalyanamma at her Kengunte residence in December, last year. Police had a tough time in nabbing the culprit as he was also cooperating with them in the investigations. Later, ample evidences collected at the crime scene pointed fingers towards Srinivasaiah.|

Kalyanamma was living alone after her son Babu died in an accident within months after his marriage. Later, his wife, who was pregnant, moved to her mother’s place in Nagamangala. Srinivasaiah, residing next to Kalyanamma, was helping her in buying grocery and other menial jobs.|

As the days passed by, he won over her confidence and started borrowing from her. When she refused to give him more money, he allegedly decided to eliminate her. On the ill-fated day, when she was sleeping, he is said to have smashed her head using a boulder.

Srinivasaiah’s wives had deserted him as he was a man of loose character, the police said.
