Police had a few days cautioned the hawkers to remove their encroachment of the footpaths and road, and warned them of action. However, the warning had fallen on deaf ears.
Early in the morning, policemen from the City police station and the Traffic police station began the operation to evict the encroachment.

Police also warned shopkeepers in the Old bus Stand compound who had again encroached the corridors of the bus stand building, and warned that such unlawful occupation would be removed soon.
