Fill up potholes

Sripuram, once considered a model layout in Bangalore City, is in a pathetic condition now. The layout has four main roads and two cross roads, each with a length of 100-150 mts and it falls under Vasanth Nagar Ward No 93 near Kumara Park West.

About two and half years ago, all roads were dug by BWSSB authorities to lay pipes of bigger diameter for underground sewerage lines, and since then we are suffering.
Autorickshaw drivers refuse to come inside the layout for fear of potholes. No action has been taken despite reminders to the BWSSB Executive Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers.

Neglected road

The stretch adjoining Sriram Samruddhi near the Kundanahalli gate and leading to Vibgyor High School in East Bangalore has been paved. There appears to be no commitment to complete the road in the near future. The stretch is not pedestrian-friendly as it has wild weeds on both sides. In the area there are some hutments which are primarily used as a scrap yard (mostly plastics and styro-foam). Is this an illegal activity? Can any action be taken against this?

Increase bus frequency

BMTC has introduced Route No 279H from Sanjaynagar to Majestic via Malleswaram. This should be popularised among commuters by BMTC. The frequency can be increased after stabilising the route which will benefit many Malleswaram-bound commuters from Sanjaynagar.

Road not asphalted for 2 years

We, residents of Prashant Extension in Whitefield have been suffering for years without proper amenities despite loyally paying taxes. The road behind the extension (connecting the Whitefield-Kadugodi road and the ECC road) was dug up completely years ago and is yet to be re-asphalted.

The trenches on either side of the road have become ditches collecting sewage for years, and are breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

The dust off the road has caused several respiratory illnesses to all the residents in this area. During rains, it is extremely difficult to walk even on the side of this so called road.

Would the BBMP take immediate action and complete the drainage and the road?

Traffic mess

The traffic mess near Sorat Aswath Park Circle where five roads meet at CK Achukattu is causing traffic hazards. There is no system in place like signals, blinkers or the presence of traffic police. Traffic is very dense during peak hours and pedestrians like old people and physically handicapped have to manage with their own skill and luck. There is not even a zebra crossing or speed breakers provided. Accidents are frequently reported from the junction. The major hurdle for traffic flow is the vendors parking their carts in front of the footpath and traders parking their cars in front of the shops. I hope the authorities concerned will make some permanent arrangements to help the public.

Water theft

Two years ago, the residents’ association of HBR Layout reported to the BWSSB and BBMP that indiscriminate and unauthorised pilferage of water from the main pipe line on 2nd Block 80 Feet Main Road by slum dwellers headed by a woman is going on, causing acute shortage of water for residents further down. We hardly get any water because of pilferage. Association representatives and BWSSB engineers both say the miscreants have strong political backing. Can the authorities show some guts to stop this looting?

Water shortage

We, residents of 12/1, 7th Cross, Malleswaram, have been facing acute shortage of water for the last couple of months. We get hardly 4 to 5 buckets of water on alternate days. In some parts of the area, people get excess water. The problem has been brought to the notice of concerned EEs of BWSSB and the PRO office at Cauvery Bhavan.

We also approached the ward councillor, but to no avail. Will someone help?
