HC restrains Melukote temple panel

Anand Alwar had filed a petition challenging the appointments to the development committee made by the State.

The petitioner contended that the government was not authorised to form such a committee and there was no transparency in its actions.

The Court has directed the Committee not to involve itself in any financial and administrative matters and  to restrict itself to mere suggestions.

The court held that any decisions regarding these matters had to be dealt by the government itself and not the committee.
