The Trust had, late on Friday, said that if the Baba’s recovery continued the way it is “He could be shifted to his residence in Prashanthi Nilayam in about a fortnight.” It had said that the announcement was made after the required consultation with the doctors.  However, no member of the trust had signed the statement even as it was sent out from the official email address.

Safaya said: “No, there was no consultation with me. May be the trust felt that he could be shifted after the kind of response he (Baba) was showing.” As of now, Safaya said, there is no question of shifting him, as the godman continues to be critical. The Chief Gastroenterologist, Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad, D Nageshwar Reddy, who flew in to treat the Baba had said: “His liver, which was diagnosed with jaundice last week, has improved and will become normal in the next seven days…”

He had pointed out that the ammonia level in Baba’s liver had increased to 90 a couple of days ago, which was way above the normal rate. “We have managed to bring it down to 30, which is normal,” he said.

But Safaya, on Sunday said that the biluribin level has increased and that the liver is a cause for worry.  Three specialists from the US – Kalpalatha K Guntupalli, Shridhar Reddy and Srinivas Badriraj – consulted the panel of doctors on Saturday and said that they are satisfied with the kind of treatment.
