Half the reports coming out in the media are baseless. There is no substance in this report," said Srinivasan.<br /><br />A daily, quoting an unnamed top player, said that the players wanted Rs.5 crores each as bonus. Immediately after the win, the BCCI had announced a cash award of Rs.1 crore for each player.<br />"We are not greedy for money...There is no harm in asking for more since the Board will earn thousands of crores after India's victory. A player's life is very uncertain. <br />Who knows what will happen next," the daily quoted the unnamed player as saying.<br /><br />The player also objected to BCCI's decision to award support staff like the logistics manager with Rs.50 lakhs. For record, the Spanish football federation awarded each footballer of the 2010 World Cup winning team the equivalent of Rs.3.85 crores.</p>
