'Mining harmless if done within limits'

He was speaking at the valedictory of science exhibition organised for PUC students of Mysore Region at NIE Science College here on Wednesday.

Dr Gurudutt called upon students to inculcate scientific spirit and temperament.

He said that acquiring knowledge should be a lifelong process.

He said that they should aim at building a better human society and benefits should reach a common man.

College Education Department Joint Director Prof T N Prabhakar said that government colleges have been allotted ` 35 lakh each with the intention of encouraging science.

He said that State Government is also giving CV Raman scholarship of ` 5,000 for students in order to promote pure science.

NIE Administrative Board Director H N Ramathirtha, NIE Science College Principal Prof Meena Shekar and others were present.
