Last Updated 23 July 2009, 19:31 IST

Surprisingly, seven of them had come into contact with the six positive H1N1 patients, who were admitted in the hospital on Wednesday.

The positive cases include two men aged 27 and 24 years, who had arrived from Bangkok; a four-year-old boy who came from UK, and a 31-year-old man who flew down from London on July 16 but, developed the symptoms two days back. Interestingly, two patients - a 38-year-old man and a 42-year-old man - got infected after meeting a person, who came from UK and later, tested positive for the virus.

The BBMP, in a release, said 71 passengers who had travelled with the positive cases, were administered precautionary dosage by health officials at their doorsteps till July 20.

However, since July 13, the officials were not sent to BIA because of the rise in dengue and chikungunya cases in the City hospitals.
