'No shortage of fund for water projects'

Four houses have collapsed due to rain, says DC

Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, few places in the district had received moderate rainfall. Mudigere and Balehonnur had received heavy rain.

All the Taluk Panchayat EOs have been directed to solve the drinking water woes in the district. Few villages are supplied water through tankers. The officials have been directed to undertake the emergency works related to water projects at the earliest.

He said “there is no shortage of funds for undertaking drinking water projects in the district. A sum of Rs 15 lakh has been released to undertake drinking water projects in each constituency. The funds will be released if the officials give a report on the project that will be undertaken.”

Cave repair

The state finance department has sanctioned the release of Rs 43 lakh for repairing the Inam Dattatreya Peeta cave. The work on the repair will be undertaken once the notification is issued by the revenue department.

Encroachment

To a query on the encroachment of the government land, the DC said that the district administration has received a report on encroachment. “Few encroached land has been reclaimed. Cases have been registered against the few encroachers. When we went to reclaim the land, the encroachers have shown the land documents. The exact details on the encroachment will be known after the survey. Funds have been released to carry out the survey of the encroached land,” he added.

‘Kala mandira’

Stating that there was no misappropriation of funds while repairing the Kala mandira in the district, he said the details on the work will be hung on the notice board of the kala mandira on Wednesday. The work was undertaken on the direction of the technical experts appointed by the government. Sound and Light Expert Paresh Kumar has given the suggestions on light and sound system. Speaker has been installed.

There are 1,46,000 LPG connections in the district. Of which, 1,14,770 have produced the documents. The remaining have not given the documents, he added.
